Custom Marine Embroidery on Sunbrella, Vinyl, and Yacht Canvas

Canvas Designers is a custom marine embroidery shop in Riviera Beach, Florida, stitching boat names, logos, monograms, and crew branding on the materials most embroidery shops can't run. We embroider directly on Sunbrella, Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl, Stamoid, WeatherMax 80, Ultraleather, Silvertex, and terry cloth, alongside standard shirts, hats, towels, and patches. Two ZSK machines, in-house digitizing, and a 35,000 sq ft canvas operation behind them mean your embroidery and your canvas work get built together, by the same shop, on the same fabric.

What we embroider on
Most embroidery shops handle cotton, poly, and twill. We handle those too, plus the marine-grade materials that flex, stretch, or coat differently than apparel fabric. The machines, needles, threads, and stabilizers are set up for marine substrates from the start.
Marine fabrics and vinyls
• Sunbrella marine and outdoor woven (every grade we use on canvas work)
• Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl, full color range including the 2026 releases
• Stamoid Light and Stamoid Top
• WeatherMax 80
• Ultraleather (marine vinyl)
• Silvertex marine vinyl
• Terry cloth (towels, robes, head covers)
Standard apparel and accessory materials
• Cotton, poly, and blended shirts
• Performance fishing shirts and polos
• Hats and visors (structured and unstructured)
• Canvas bags, duffels, and tote bags
• Patches (sewn or heat-applied to canvas covers)
The two embroidery machines and what each one does
Different jobs need different setups. Running everything on one machine forces compromises. We run two, sized for opposite ends of the work.

Large-format logos on canvas panels, cushion faces, full-size boat name graphics, helm chair covers, large patches |
The 52 by 27 inch field is the difference-maker. It's wide enough to embroider a yacht name across a single panel of canvas or vinyl without splicing, and the 15-needle head runs complex multi-color artwork without thread changes between fills. 2,000,000 stitches of memory means a digitized design loads once and runs cleanly through to finish.

Best for |
Crew shirts, captain hats, pillows, table runners, patches, step pads, monogrammed towels |
Hat embroidery needs a dedicated cap frame. Shirt embroidery on a curved chest panel needs a different hoop than a flat patch. The ZSK Sprint switches between those setups quickly, which is why crew uniform orders and personalized gifts move faster on it than on the large-format machine.
What we make
These are the most common jobs the embroidery shop runs. If the item is made of something we can stitch, we can do it.
For the boat itself
• Boat name and hailing port on canvas covers, enclosure panels, and Bimini valances
• Custom logos on helm chair covers and helm chair backs
• Monograms on cushions, pillows, and bolster faces
• Embroidered patches sewn or heat-applied to canvas covers and storage bags
• Step pads with boat name, hailing port, or burgee
• Table runners for cockpit and saloon tables
For the owner and crew
• Yacht crew shirts (polos, performance shirts, button-downs)
• Captain hats and crew caps
• Monogrammed terry towels and beach towels
• Embroidered duffel bags and tote bags
• Personalized robes and head covers
For charter operators, marinas, and businesses
• Fleet branding across multiple vessels in a consistent layout
• Charter crew uniforms in bulk
• Marina staff uniforms and pro shop branding
• Corporate yacht branding for hospitality and client events
How a custom embroidery order flows
Most embroidery requests go through the same five steps. Most of it happens in-house, which is why turnaround times stay tight even on complex jobs.

Canvas shop |
Why a marine canvas shop is the right place for marine embroidery
Most embroidery shops don't run marine vinyl. The fabric's coated, it doesn't behave like apparel, and standard needles and threads aren't set up for it. Canvas Designers has been working with these materials since 1985 because they're what marine canvas is made of. The embroidery operation grew out of that, not the other way around.
|
WHY THIS MATTERS Your embroidery and your canvas work get built by the same shop, on the same roll of fabric, with the same color match. No shipping a finished cushion to a third-party embroiderer and hoping the panel comes back square. No mismatched thread between the helm chair monogram and the cockpit cushion monogram. And no rejected jobs because the embroiderer wouldn't touch Stamoid or Silvertex. |
Frequently asked questions
Can you embroider on Sunbrella and marine vinyl?
Yes. Canvas Designers embroiders on Sunbrella marine and outdoor woven, Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl, Stamoid, WeatherMax 80, Ultraleather, Silvertex, and terry cloth, alongside standard shirts and hats. The needles, threads, and stabilizers are set up for marine substrates from the start. Most apparel-focused embroidery shops can't run these materials.
What's the largest design you can embroider in one piece?
Up to 52 inches by 54 inches in a single hoop on our large-format ZSK machine. That's wide enough for full yacht names, large logos, and complex multi-color graphics across a single canvas panel without splicing.
Do you embroider hats and crew shirts?
Yes. Hats, polos, performance fishing shirts, button-downs, and bags are run on our ZSK Sprint, which has dedicated cap frames and a 9-needle head. Bulk crew orders for yachts, charter fleets, and marinas are a regular part of the workload.
Can I send my own logo or artwork?
Yes. Send your artwork as a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF) for best results. We can also work from high-resolution PNG or JPEG files. Our in-house digitizer converts your art into an embroidery file and sets stitch direction, underlay, and density for the fabric it's going on.
How long does custom embroidery take?
Lead times depend on order size and whether the embroidery is part of a larger canvas job. Standalone hat and shirt orders typically run faster than canvas panel work that has to feed back into the sewing line. We'll quote a firm lead time when we quote the job.
Do you offer wholesale or bulk pricing for fleets and charter operators?
Yes. Charter fleets, marinas, and yacht clubs running consistent branding across multiple vessels or staff uniforms get bulk pricing and a single digitized design file used across the entire order. Call us at (561) 848-2111 or request a quote online.
Can you match my existing brand colors?
Yes. We pull thread color matches against Pantone numbers, hex codes, or physical samples. For yacht crew programs and charter fleets where brand consistency matters, we keep your thread color profile on file for future orders.
