What can a custom boat day cover protect?
Day covers can be made for seats, consoles, instruments, engines, hatches, deck boxes, open bows and cockpits. The purpose is to cover the selected area while the boat is not in use. Send photos so Canvas Designers can review the shape, support, fastening and material requirements.
Are day covers waterproof?
That depends on the exact fabric and the finished construction. Some marine canvas fabrics are water-repellent and breathable, while coated fabrics manage water differently. Seams, support, slope and openings also matter. Tell the team how much rain protection you need and confirm the selected material’s specification.
Can a new cover use my existing snaps?
Possibly. The existing fastenings need to be checked for condition, placement and compatibility with the new cover. Send close-ups of the snaps or tracks, plus an overall view. Reuse is confirmed during the fit and attachment review.
Can I use a day cover while trailering or running the boat?
Do not assume a day cover is suitable for transport or use underway. Those conditions need a cover and attachment arrangement specified for that purpose. Discuss your intended use with Canvas Designers before ordering or using the cover.
What affects the price of a custom day cover?
The area covered, shape, fabric, support, number of pieces and attachment details affect the scope. Existing components and access to the boat can also need review. Custom covers are quoted for the project. The marine accessory prices elsewhere on this page are not day-cover estimates.
How should I measure for a cover quote?
For an initial inquiry, provide approximate length, width and height where practical, plus overall and close-up photos. Include rails, screens, handles, corners and existing attachment points. These measurements help describe the project. Final production dimensions and fit must be confirmed with the team.
