Ultimate Refit: Canvas Designers on a 68 Foot Viking Sportfish

Canvas Designers updated interior and exterior upholstery, carpeting, and bedding on this 68-foot Viking Sportfish. The project connected salon seating, cabin details, helm chairs, flybridge cushions, and mezzanine upholstery through a coordinated material palette.

What changed in the Viking’s interior?
The interior work included new sofa cushions and backs, recovered dinette and barstool seating, and refreshed salon window treatments. The interior upholstery choices combined Ultrafabrics® surfaces with Sunbrella® Piazza Pebble accents.
Salon sofa
New cushions and backs created an updated geometric layout. The sofa used Ultrafabrics Pumice in Whitewater with Coast in Dolphin for the welt.
Dinette seating
The owner selected Ultrafabrics in Dolphin for the dinette. The color coordinated with the surrounding salon seating and wood interior.
Valances & lambrequins
Sunbrella Piazza Pebble and new foam refreshed the salon window treatments. The lambrequins, or shaped window trim, reused their existing wood bases beneath the new fabric and foam.
Barstool recovering
The barstools used Dolphin upholstery for the bodies and Pumice Whitewater for the welt, carrying the seating palette into the bar area.
New carpet connected the salon and cabin passageways

Existing bedspreads were altered for a tailored fit
The bedding work involved modifying store-bought bedspreads for the master cabin and guest and crew berths. This was a bedding alteration project. For your boat, discuss whether marine bedding should be altered from existing pieces or made to a new specification.
Sunbrella Horizon coordinated the exterior seating
The exterior seating updates used Sunbrella Horizon marine vinyl, with Capriccio Cloud surfaces, Charcoal detailing, and quilting specified for different areas. The work extended from helm chair upholstery to the flybridge and mezzanine seating.
Helm-chair cushions
New seat and backrest cushions used Sunbrella Horizon Capriccio Cloud, with quilted Charcoal insets recorded in the project specification.
Flybridge cushions
The flybridge cushions combined Capriccio Cloud, Charcoal welts, and diamond quilting. The project notes specify dri-fast foam for this seating.
Mezzanine & armrests
New foam and Capriccio Cloud upholstery refreshed the mezzanine, with quilting and Charcoal welts. Armrests were also recovered, and the project included a custom drink caddy.
