A presidential yacht · A Canvas Designers project

Presidential history.
Custom craftsmanship.

Honey Fitz is a 93-foot wooden yacht built in 1931 that served five U.S. presidents. Canvas Designers’ contribution included custom upholstery, fitted slipcovers, a stateroom headliner, an aft-deck enclosure and a custom tender lifting pole with a stainless steel brace. Together, these details complement the yacht’s Kennedy-era character.

01 / Interior upholstery

A restoration in blue and white.

The yacht’s blue upholstery, white welting and varnished timber give the project its visual rhythm. Canvas Designers carried that palette across seating areas, pairing Perennials Rough and Rowdy Denim with Blanca welt.

Every space called for its own fit while belonging to the same boat. Explore our custom interior yacht upholstery for similar seating work.

02 / Fit and finish

One palette.
Many individual details.

The project included fitted snap-on chair slipcovers as well as upholstered seating. White welt draws a clear line around the blue fabric, bringing continuity to individual cushions and seating areas.

The same considered approach extends to exterior marine upholstery, where the fit, finish and relationship between pieces shape the finished space.

03 / Aft-deck enclosure

A clear view.
A custom fit.

Canvas Designers fabricated a 15-panel, three-sided sandwich-style soft enclosure for the aft deck. The documented material combination was 40 mil Regalite Firma Glass and Stamoid Light.

The team used 3D technology in design and planning. For your own vessel, compare boat enclosure materials and discuss the structure, visibility and access your project needs.
