Lift the center of your Sunfly shade and solve two common problems at once: water pooling after a rain shower, and rod interference when you're rigging at the fighting chair.
The Sunfly topping lift pole is a purpose-built accessory for your flybridge shade setup. It raises the center of your sunfly canopy, creating a peak that sheds water cleanly and gives you the overhead clearance you need to work rods without snagging on sagging canvas. Simple idea, real difference in the water.
Built from the strongest carbon fiber in the industry with anodized aluminum fittings, a custom Delrin top pulley, and our patented 316 stainless steel duo-cam cleat the same hardware you get on our full-size Sunfly shade poles. Available in 3 ft and 4 ft lengths, depending on how much lift you need.
Why add a topping lift pole:
- Raises the center of your Sunfly shade for proper water runoff
- Gives you rod clearance at the fighting chair when rigging
- Eliminates canvas sag and water pooling after rain
- Clean flybridge appearance with a strap-free setup
- Strongest carbon fiber pole on the market
- Anodized aluminum fittings built for saltwater
- Custom Delrin top pulley and 316 stainless duo-cam cleat
- Fits standard 1-1/2" rod holders on the flybridge
Who this is for:
-
- Sportfish boats and yachts with flybridge shade systems
- Boats running a Sunfly or similar center-supported shade canopy
- Anyone dealing with water pooling or rod interference under shade
- Vessels 45 ft to 100 ft

4Ft. LIFTING POLE SPECS PDF
Choosing between 3 ft and 4 ft: The 3 ft pole gives you a subtle lift and works well for most flybridge configurations where you need rod clearance and basic water shedding. The 4 ft pole provides more dramatic peak height, which is better for larger canopies, boats that see heavy rain, or setups where you need more overhead clearance for rigging.

FAQs:
What does a topping lift pole actually do? It lifts the center of your sunshade canopy, creating a peak in the middle. That peak does two important jobs: it lets rainwater run off instead of pooling, and it raises the canvas overhead so your rods have clearance when you're rigging at the chair.
Do I need one if I already have Sunfly shade poles? It depends on how you use your boat. If you fish seriously from a flybridge and need rod clearance, or if you deal with afternoon rain showers that leave water pooled in your canopy, a topping lift pole makes a real difference. For casual shade use at the sandbar, your main Sunfly poles are usually enough on their own.
Where does it install? It mounts into a rod holder on the flybridge and connects to the center of your SunFly canopy, raising the middle of the canvas to create the peak.
3 ft or 4 ft, which should I get? Pick 3 ft for a modest lift and rod clearance on most flybridge setups. Pick 4 ft if you want a more pronounced peak, have a larger canopy, or deal with frequent rain.
Will this fit my Sunfly shade system? Yes, it's designed specifically as a Sunfly accessory. The hardware matches the rest of the Sunfly system, including the 1-1/2" diameter that fits standard rod holders and the same Delrin pulley and 316 stainless cleat.
What boats is this for? Boats between 45 ft and 100 ft. That covers most sportfish yachts and cruising yachts with a flybridge shade setup.
Is the carbon fiber really the strongest available? Sunfly poles use the highest-grade carbon fiber in the marine shade market. Carbon fiber gives you a better strength-to-weight ratio than aluminum, handles saltwater better over time, and flexes less under load.
