Shade in seconds. That's the whole idea.

Drop these powder coated aluminum Sunfly poles into your rod holders, clip on your sunshade, and you're ready. No frames, no struts, no support straps, no tools. Just a clean, fast shade setup that looks great and holds up to real marine conditions.

Built from high-strength, lightweight aluminum with a durable powder coated finish, these Sunfly poles give you the same quick-deploy design as our carbon fiber version at a more accessible price point. The 1-1/2 inch diameter fits most standard rod holders, and the strap-free design keeps your boat looking clean while you enjoy the shade.

Aluminum vs. carbon fiber which is right for you? The powder coated aluminum Sunfly poles are the value-focused option in the Sunfly lineup. They deliver the same strap-free setup, the same Delrin pulley, the same 316 stainless cleat, and the same quick deployment as our carbon fiber poles. The main trade-off is boat size range aluminum is recommended up to 65 ft, while carbon fiber extends all the way to 100 ft for larger sportfish and cruising yachts. If you're running a boat under 65 ft and want the Sunfly experience at a better price, these are the poles for you.

FAQs:

Do these poles really work without support straps? Yes. The high-strength aluminum construction holds a full shade canopy on its own. No straps, no struts, no extra rigging just the poles, your rod holders, and your sunshade.

Will they fit my rod holders? The 1-1/2 inch diameter fits most standard rod holders found on center consoles, bay boats, and sportfish boats. If you're unsure, measure the inside diameter of your rod holder before ordering.

What's the difference between the aluminum and carbon fiber Sunfly poles? Both share the same hardware, same design, and same quick-setup experience. Aluminum is the value option and works for boats up to 65 ft. Carbon fiber is lighter, stronger, and rated for boats up to 100 ft better suited for larger yachts and sportfish vessels.

Can I use these in saltwater? Yes. The powder coated finish protects the aluminum from corrosion, and the 316 stainless steel duo-cam cleat is marine-grade hardware. Rinse with fresh water after saltwater use to maximize longevity.

How do I install them? Slide the poles into your rod holders, attach your shade canopy to the Delrin pulley and stainless cleat, and you're set. No drilling, no tools, no modifications to your boat.

What boats are these for? Boats between 23 ft and 65 ft. That covers most center consoles, bay boats, and smaller sportfish and cruising boats.

Are these the same as shade sail poles for patios? No. These are purpose-built marine shade poles designed to deploy from a boat's rod holders, not ground-mounted patio shade sail poles. They're engineered for the specific loads, angles, and conditions of boat shade systems.
