The Sunfly round-base receiver is a mirror-polished 316 stainless steel mount that holds a Sunfly shade pole securely in place at the bow or stern of a boat. It surface-mounts to a deck, gunwale, or dock, and the 1-1/2 inch size accepts every Sunfly carbon fiber and aluminum shade pole.

Built for the Sunfly shade system

Every Sunfly carbon fiber shade pole is built to a 1-1/2 inch diameter. That means your poles drop into this receiver’s 1-1/2 inch size and into most standard 1-1/2 inch rod holders. The round-base receiver is the dedicated option for spots where you don’t have a rod holder, or where you’d rather not cut a flush socket into the gunwale.

Larger sizes support rails, backrests, and other stainless work from our custom metal fabrication shop.sunfly powder coated aluminum poles and stainless steel receivers

Sizes, angles, and base styles

Each receiver is made of mirror-polished 316 stainless steel and sold individually. Pick the combination that fits your installation:

Sizes: 1 inch and 1-1/4 inch (3 inch depth), 1-1/2 inch and 2 inch (4-1/2 inch depth), and 6 inch (6 inch depth)

Angles: 90 degree vertical, plus 10, 15, and 30 degree options

    Base styles: 3-hole, 4-hole, 3-stud, and 4-stud

Not sure which angle or base style your boat needs? Call (561) 848-2111 and we’ll spec it with you.

How many receivers do you need?

Most boats use 2 to 6 receivers for a bow shade and 2 to 4 for a stern shade, depending on boat size and how much area you want to cover. Our team can spec the exact layout for your boat shade system before you order.

Installation

The price per receiver doesn’t include installation. Canvas Designers can install your receivers, or your local canvas shop can handle it.

A round-base receiver surface-mounts to a solid area of the boat or dock. Use appropriate marine-grade fasteners, bed the base with marine sealant, and use a backing plate wherever possible to spread the load. That last part matters most on cored decks and thinner fiberglass.

Care

Clean your receivers regularly with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasive materials that could damage the polished surface, and inspect the hardware periodically for wear or loosening.
