Installation and Usage Instructions:

1. Contents of the Package:
   - One Detour
   - Two strips of Velcro Velstick®
   - Four metal screws
   - Four washers

2.  Tools Needed
   - Power drill with a ⅛ metal drill bit
   - Phillips head screwdriver

3.   Installation Steps
   1. Measure approximately 48" from ground level and mark this height on both sides of the door frame. (48" is recommended for both ambulatory and wheelchair-bound patients. This height can be adjusted as needed.)
   2. Using the metal drill bit, drill a hole at the 48" mark and another hole 2" above it on each side of the doorframe. Drill two identically spaced holes in each of the 3" Velstick pieces provided. (See Figure A).
   3. Attach each Velstick to the doorframe using the screws and washers provided. The Velcro product used here is the "hook" portion of the Velcro® system. The "loop" portion is sewn onto The Detour.
   4. Using the horizontal strips of Velcro "loop" sewn onto the top side of The Detour, attach The Detour to the Velstick (See Figure B).
   5. The horizontal Velcro strips on the front of The Detour are for securing it in its open position. Simply detach one vertical Velcro attachment to secure it. (See Figure C).
